Hi everyone,

Wow, first up I just want to say a massive thank you to everybody who has been supporting me and has bought the album. It was such a competitive week musically as well so it really means a lot to have your support.

Last week was so busy, I was doing promo all over the place, appearing on shows like This Morning which was great. I got up at 7am which was a more civilised hour than I expected. I’ve got GM:TV coming up and that will be a 4am start! On This Morning I met Michael McIntyre and Joanna Page from Gavin and Stacey who was really nice. Yesterday I went for dinner with Hayley Westenra, she’s become a good friend since we met at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 60th birthday.

Saturday was incredible as I went to watch Wales beat Australia in the rugby which was a momentous day. I was also honoured and privileged to be invited as a guest of honour, they even did a speech about me in the VIP meal. All my rugby heroes of past and present were there and I had a chinwag with Bryn Terfel too, one of my vocal heroes.

I’ll check in again soon and answer some your questions in the forum. Keep them coming I love seeing them!

Love Rhydian. x

A Message from Rhydian - 19/11/08

Hi there,

Hope you’re well. I’ve recently been in Sheffield to turn on their Christmas lights, which was great. It was the first time I’ve ever switched on the lights anywhere and I had a really nice reception. There were a few other artists there - the Saturdays, Only Men Allowed and some of the stars from Coronation Street too.

Before that I had a gig with Katherine Jenkins, Girls Aloud and the cast of Strictly Come Dancing at a private event in London. I did a duet with Katherine, which was fantastic, and it was really nice to meet up with the Girls!

I’ve also been around most of the UK on the radio tour, going to places I’ve never been to before! On one occasion I was in the studio and one of my childhood heroes was in the room next door! It was Simon Fowler, the lead singer from Ocean Colour Scene - I really admire and respect him so it was a big thing for me, and was the first time I’ve ever really been star-struck. He was really nice, and the radio station gave me a recording of his acoustic performance of The Circle, so that was brilliant. Today I’m heading to another radio station to do an interview with Steve Wright.

Recently, I met a lovely fan called Lu, who makes me fantastic handmade cards. I’d like to say thanks for your generosity and your creativity and support, you’re a beautiful young lady. Please mail me at rcalabelgroup@sonybmg.com (with proof that it’s you!) and I’ll make sure the guys on my label send you a treat!

I met with William Baker in the week to go through the staging of my X Factor performance. He’s Kylie’s stylist and also styled Leona for her performance last week. It’ll all start coming together in the next few days so it’s all very exciting - I really enjoy working on the look and feel of a performance, especially when it’s with someone like William Baker!

Looking forward to hearing what you all think

Well I had a big meeting with Simon Cowell the other day at the X Factor studios in Wembley. It’s the first time I’ve been back since the show and I managed to see all the other judges as well as the man himself. It was very good to catch up with him, although I was a little apprehensive beforehand as I really wanted him to be happy with the album and fortunately he was!

It was good to be back there as I have very fond memories of it all. I met some of the contestants, like Rachel, and watched them all perform ‘Hero’ on the monitors in Simon’s room. I thought they were amazing, awesome. There were lots of loyal X Factor fans waiting outside, lots of who had been there last year too so I got to catch up with them and have a few photographs.

I’ve actually just had a suit fitting for my X Factor performance with Ozwald Boateng himself. He’s very nice and I’m extremely lucky to be able to sit down with a designer who I’ve long admired and who is now a friend of mine. I’ve also been filming some more footage for a documentary which is going out on Welsh TV the week of the album release.

I’m heading off to Wales tomorrow to play a gig for the Prince’s Trust, and will be visiting my mum while I’m there. Then we’re off to Belfast for a concert straight after and then it’s back to Cardiff!

Well I’ve had a wicked few days in beautiful Iceland shooting my video. The reason we went to Iceland was because of the dramatic scenery that really fits in with the epic nature of the song. It was just the most phenomenal place to shoot and I found all the people there to be wonderful, despite being in a time of financial crisis. I love Icelandic people!

It was my first time there and was actually very close to how I expected it to be, although what I didn’t realise is that is has only 300,000 inhabitants. The greatest thing was going in a helicopter on the first day, as I’d never been in one before. I was really nervous beforehand, but once we were up there I was very relaxed because I had one of the top pilots in Iceland who did loads of the James Bond movies. I was really enjoyed it, but unfortunately the cameraman got airsick and threw up out of the helicopter!

Whilst in Iceland we decided to kill two birds with one stone and do a photoshoot there, so hopefully we’ve got some really good snaps. I went on a snowbike too and absolutely loved it.

I did try some Icelandic delicacies, one of which I was a bit reluctant to sample… the guy offering it said, ‘Oh it’s really nice’, and it turned out to be sheep’s eyeball, tongue and brain in jelly! I did try it and in all honesty I’d like to say I enjoyed it but it smelt like dog food and tasted awful. One eyeball and half a tongue was enough for me!

We got back on Monday evening and I went straight to Liverpool to do a concert for Crossroads, the charity I support. I’d like to say a big thank you to all my fans who’ve raised money for it over the year.

One of my fans came along and presented a cheque, so that was a very special night. I’ve basically been on-the-go since I got back, but in a good way. I couldn’t watch X Factor on the Saturday night because I was in Iceland but I saw a recording of it, and I can’t believe a year has gone by since I was on it!

Bye for now

I’m in beautiful Stockholm trying out a song in the studio, had to get up at the ridiculous hour of 3am to be here but as always it was worth it – sunny skies, lovely local Swedish company and have got some good work done! I was busy on Wednesday filming a documentary. It’s bilingual so I’m really having to train my Welsh speaking brain again. I’ve been having lots of meetings with the label & management about the album as release date grows ever closer! I had a fantastic singing lesson last Tuesday and am now seeing a new personal trainer who used to be on ‘the Gladiators’! It’s scary how fit she is! Thank you to everyone who sent me cards and messages for my move to London - it meant such a lot. I’m beginning to meet some friendly faces in the area. The new gym I go to is fab.

The next few weeks are packed with various events and video shoots. We are filming a tv commercial next week possibly in a country that I have never been to before which is very exciting. One thing I love doing is visiting new countries. I would tell you where it is but, unfortunately, for now anyway, it’s a secret!!

Hope you all have a great week.

With love as always

Hi everyone! Last week was a momentous week for many reasons! The week began with me moving into my new home in North London, which was very exciting and tiring at the same time.

This was followed by an appearance on ‘The Charlotte Church Show’ for her Christmas special show. It was lovely to perform with Charlotte. She was incredibly sweet to me and made me feel right at home.

The highlight for me though had to be performing at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s birthday bash at Hyde Park! Thank you to everyone who came to support. I hope you all had as memorable a day as I did!

We are currently seeking out places to film my video and some fantastic places have been mentioned. It’ll be a real surprise.

Much love and thanks to you all. ‘Til next time Rhydian x

My first meal in L.A was spent catching up with some friends –and last night I went for drinks with some of S Club 7 who now live in California, we had a great laugh. I’m recording 3 songs out here and then doing a photo shoot for my album cover. It’s all extremely exciting and I feel very fortunate to be doing it all. By the way, Beverly Hills is exactly how it appears in films. Its exciting and lively – I even went to see where Simon lives. It looks more like a hotel! Incredible. Ill keep you up to date on how things are going in the studio.

Last week was a whole load of fun for many reasons and not least seeing some of your lovely faces at Ponty’s big weekend! Your support never ceases to amaze me. All your cards, flowers and gifts were again greatly appreciated. My lovely grandmother, Nain, had a fantastic day. Thank you for making her feel so special. Today is a day going clothes shopping in London. Friday I’m performing for an event in the city, and then...the moment I’ve really been looking forward to…flying out to L.A to record with Walter A. We might also be doing a photoshoot over there sometime in the next few weeks! I will post you guys a message from America, but until then have a fantastic week.

BUSY WEEK AGAIN! - 19/07/08

Hi again, well it’s been a busy week yet again. Had a few interviews, some styling meetings and had band rehearsals. It took me a while to get over the jet lag from Nashville but the trip was worth it! I loved working in Nashville and with producer Desmond Child - he is a legend. Managed to get back to Wales last week which was good to spend some time with the family. Dad and I bought a new ride-on mower and I actually tried horse riding. I quite like horses but it will be a while before I do that again - I was so sore! I am so excited about Ponty in the Park tomorrow. Really looking forward to performing in front of a home crowd. My mum is actually from Pontypridd so that makes it even more special. I have to go now but will check in again next week. Keep well. x Rhyd.

Hello from Nashville! This is actually my first time to America and I have to say, I love it. I’m working with acclaimed songwriter/producer, Desmond Childs. He has written for artist such as Cher, Bon Jovi and meat loaf. I feel extremely honored right now to be working with such a great! Last week I spent two days writing new songs with Paul Barry which went well. On Tuesday I went to see a new musical in London which I thoroughly enjoyed. Great to see some good original musical theatre back on the West End! I’ve had a bit of a cold lately but I’m loads better now ready for all the excitement of recording over here.

WRITING FROM SWEDEN - 06/06/08

Hello lovely people! You’ll have to forgive me for writing this rather brief blog but I’ve just come out of the studio and it’s midnight here in Stockholm. I have, once again, thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Sweden. The weather has been amazing and tomorrow the forecast is more of the same, so I’m taking a boat trip with my new producer friends to a nearby island. I could quite happily live here you know! Yesterday I met with a songwriter who played me a cracking original song. It’s so fantastic to be able to work closely with writers in the earliest stages of a potential hit!! I never thought in a million years that I would be having so much input with some of the most influential writer/producers in the world. I’m a very lucky man! Last week I had lunch with Dianne Warren!! Living legend in my eyes and a lovely person to boot. Yesterday I had a meal at Benny and Bjorn’s restaurant in the middle of Stockholm. It was divine. ( Abba didn’t cook the food I hasten to add!!) Next week I have a private concert in Cyprus then I’m flying on to Crete for another private gig with the beautiful Katherine Jenkins. I can’t wait to see her and sing with her again. Anyway, until the next time
Much love

MEETING HRH PRINCE CHARLES - 23/05/08

Hello Everyone, Can I begin this week’s blog by saying how grateful I am to those of you who made it to see me at Norwich. By the way, some of the gifts I’ve received are just lovely- cufflinks, flowers, book of poems and the customised beanie hat to name but a few! They are so useful and much appreciated, so thanks for that. I performed in front of HRH Prince Charles last week and was honoured to be able to meet him prior to performing. We had a good old chin wag (as you do!!). I’ve included a picture of me with HRH. A great day full of fabulous memories!!

The past few days have been spent working in the recording studio with a living legend who goes by the name of Walter A. He was responsible for writing and producing hits such as ‘Hero’ for Mariah Carey and various songs for Celine including ‘My Heart Will Go On’, which he produced. We have, over a relatively short period of time become great friends, and I for one am extremely excited about writing new material with him. Last Saturday I flew to Ireland to perform in Dublin for an event with Mick Hucknell. I have had an amazing time and everyone I’ve met has been so genuine and lovely; I’ve loved me time over there. I also love you guys for making this all happen for me! I’m so enjoying recording in the studio making music, which is all I have wanted to do! Hope you all have a satisfying week. All my love. Rhydian

Can I take this opportunity to thank every one of you that attended my gig in Bolton. I had a lovely evening performing and then meeting you afterwards. I hope you found it as enjoyable as I did! I’m typing this week’s blog whilst lying in bed in my hotel room in Sweden. This is my second night here in beautiful Stockholm and I’m pleased to say that the two Swedish producers I’m working with are delightful. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first full day of recording today and am looking forward to more of the same tomorrow. My hotel is fantastic and is situated only 2 mins walk from the recording studio. Everyone I have met over here so far is adorable, and there seems to be a relaxed atmosphere in the city centre. For the first time now that I’m here recording, I’m really feeling as if I’m beginning my new career as a recording artist. Thanks again to those who have made it all possible. Love always, Yours in music!

Hi everyone, Rhydian here. Just wanted to say a quick ‘Hello’ to everyone out there and to let you know I’m having a great time here on the tour. It has been such a fantastic experience so far being able to perform in front of so many of you across the country. I have loved getting out on the road and being able to thank many of you personally for voting for me and for getting me this far. I’m trying to keep to my normal training, sleeping and eating rituals (I can’t help myself!) whilst traveling. It’s not easy doing that while on the road but I’m determined not to falter! The catering on the tour is great though so I’m loving that and there is a constant supply of cups of tea as some of you may know, I have a weakness for caffeine no matter how healthy I try to be! I am extremely excited about getting into the studio to record my album and can’t wait to release it! It is going to be a dream come true for me and I really hope that you will all enjoy listening to it. Keep tuning into my website for updates on how the touring and recording is going and I’ll try my best to put news and photos up as often as I can. Rhydian x
