Rhydian

Rhydian

To perfect his debut effort, Rhydian worked with an array of producers, with mentors including Steve Mac, Desmond Child, Quiz & Larossi, Per Magnusson and David Kreuger.

An array of original tracks were written especially for Rhydian, including the heart-stirring ‘I’m Coming Home Again’ and the stunning lead single ‘The Impossible Dream’.

The album also features his showstoppers from the X Factor, Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, West Side Story’s ‘Somewhere’ and ‘What If, a fantastic duet with Broadway star Idina Menzel.

Rhydian commented, “You can’t rush a good album; we wanted to make something timeless, full of great songs, not just an X Factor tribute.” Rhydian added: “Whatever song I sing, I try to put my own stamp on it.  I am classically trained, but I don’t regard myself as an opera singer. I quite like the fact that I don’t fit into any particular style. I just try and connect with a song myself and then, if I’m moved, I can actually make a magnetic connection with an audience.”

Dammit, this is such a karaoke album. Seriously, Rhydian has a classic and perfect voice but these are average sellout songs. I know he is probably happy enough getting a lot of money(Damn Right!) but he can’t say he has worked hard on this album, his live performances are technically as good as those on the album. I don’t think he’ll make a Christmas number one, these guys will; http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WN9cGpSoR-Q&feature=related

I’m so excited, the album release date is so close now! The Impossible Dream is one of my favourite songs, and I didn’t think I would ever find a version that I likes more than the Treorchy Male Voice Choir version, but this is it! Got to admit though, and this may not go down with die-hard Rhydian fans that will love everything, don’t like Not a dry eye in the house. Too meatloafey. The voice is faultless of course, just not keen on the song… Everything else more than makes up for it though. Oh and duetting with Idina Menzel? WOW!
