Rhydian

To perfect his debut effort, Rhydian worked with an array of producers, with mentors including Steve Mac, Desmond Child, Quiz & Larossi, Per Magnusson and David Kreuger.
An array of original tracks were written especially for Rhydian, including the heart-stirring ‘I’m Coming Home Again’ and the stunning lead single ‘The Impossible Dream’.
The album also features his showstoppers from the X Factor, Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, West Side Story’s ‘Somewhere’ and ‘What If, a fantastic duet with Broadway star Idina Menzel.
Rhydian commented, “You can’t rush a good album; we wanted to make something timeless, full of great songs, not just an X Factor tribute.” Rhydian added: “Whatever song I sing, I try to put my own stamp on it. I am classically trained, but I don’t regard myself as an opera singer. I quite like the fact that I don’t fit into any particular style. I just try and connect with a song myself and then, if I’m moved, I can actually make a magnetic connection with an audience.”

Couldn’t agree with you more Wright. Compared to Rhydian’s performances last year this year is rubbish. Was very happy he was on it the other week though. He makes me proud to be Welsh.

Finally found the album here in the US. $31 for a CD seems exorbitant, but i’m thinking about it very seriously. Hopefully once the holiday gift giving is over there will be enough left over for what i want.

When ryd never won last year i was gutted. It ruined my chrismas and new year, I Always said there was a reason a year later I now know he was above x factor; He will be never be known as just an x factor winner but as a fantastic singer and a lovely person in his own right;HE has worked hard on his album he did not need to sing the winners single to get on/ I watched semi final last night i would not phone in for any of them whole series was boring we never will have another Rhyd; I REALLY found myself looking forward to see what he would sing and the show he would put on on sat, replace xfactor with RHYDIAN ROBERTS It would be fantastic give us something to look forward to on sat, xx

I’ve not voted at all this year and last year voted for Rhydian every week. When you look at people like G4 and Lemar who never won the shows they took part in yet still forged very successful careers while the actual winners returned to relative obscurity after their Christmas number 1. I think Rhydian is gonna be around for a long time and I look forward to continuing to follow his career. I feel so honoured to have met him (albeit very briefly) since he is world class. Hopefully I will see him again sometime….xx

Rhydian, when i first watched you in the auditions for the X factor i knew then you had the strength and determination to succeed. You deserved to win that X factor title in 2007. You are a star and i believe you will stand the test of time in the music industry.your a truly stunning young man with a wonderful voice that can never be recreated in any one else. Your unique and thats why Wales loves you. your voice raises me up when i feel down, and there are not many musicians that have that effect on me. Cant wait to see you in cardiff. Best wishes for the christmas and new year. and most of all luck and love for the future. Wales is proud of you Rhydian.
